Those under the age of 21 may be considered after evaluation for appropriateness. The program is designed for chronic relapsers young and old, licensed professionals, executives and those with a history of multiple treatments. This is the person for whom Seabrook West was developed.
What Makes Seabrook West PA Unique?
Seabrook House West, is licensed by the Pennsylvania (PA) Department of Drug & Alcohol Programs (DDAP) to operate five (5) levels of care: Inpatient Detoxification, Inpatient Rehab, Inpatient Transitional Living, Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient. License #597026. The program is open-ended for length of stay and is designed to be the perfect balance between extended care and sober living. A recommendation of 6 months length of stay is the minimal. We find that many of our younger adult residents gain maximum benefit by staying for 12 months. Residents are required to participate in a minimum of 12 hours of clinical services per week by Masters level clinicians with expertise in substance use disorders, family therapy, relapse prevention and trauma recovery. All therapy is generally provided onsite by a multidisciplinary clinical/medical/psychiatric team. After first 30 days of orientation, residents may be permitted to have their own car, attend outside meetings on their own and truly begin their transition back into community life. An individualized treatment plan is developed for each resident, outlining specific goals. All residents must agree to abide by strict rules of conduct and participation in all aspects of the program, including work therapy. Work therapy includes maintaining your own personal space as well as assisting others in duties such as kitchen, trash removal, mopping floors, cooking meals.
In 2013, Seabrook West received re-accreditation status through CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). Our program satisfied each of the CARF Accreditation Conditions and demonstrated substantial conformance to the behavioral health quality standards. As a result, Seabrook West was awarded a Three-Year Accreditation status as a residential addiction treatment program, the highest ranking available.
The facility features high end accommodations and amenities typically found in 5 star bed and breakfasts. We understand that it is not just nice accommodations that assist in early recovery but we are fortunate to have both an excellent clinical program and luxurious surroundings. The main building consists of a 9,000 sq. ft. Colonial Revival mansion built in 1937 with marble and original hardwood floors. On site recreation includes cardio workout room, weight room and fitness center, skiing/snowboarding, basketball, volleyball, soccer, ping pong room, a fleet of mountain bikes, hiking, horseshoes, and a large fire pit for evenings around a camp fire in the middle of a brick courtyard.
Accommodations offer private & semi-private rooms, private baths, cable television, weight-lifting facilities, a 1,600 sq .ft. media and game room, Internet access and WiFi throughout. The program provides a recommended 6 month supportive rehab, 3 phase step-down for independent living and immersion into a 12 step recovery process. During free time, residents establish a sober support system in the community by attending local self help meetings.
