Nick S.
"Seabrook Helped me get my son back"
drug treatment

Nick Sammartino, a former patient of Seabrook House, provides a "living proof" example of how treatment can help even those who are in deep despair. Sammartino, whose father died of his own heroin addiction, thought that he would never realize a life worth living. "I couldn't stop using and I thought the only way out was to die. Then I realized I wanted to live," said Sammartino.

Today, Nick’s life is abundant by any standard. The rewards of recovery have been fruitful and it all began in the winter of 1997 at Seabrook House. However, not so long ago, Nick's future was not as clear. "I never knew which day would be his last," said his mother, Linda Paris. One Christmas night, he hitchhiked to a Blackwood, NJ rehab center, which refused him. Another in Franklinville wouldn't take him because he was high. (see “living proof” on back page) Finally, Nick was admitted to Seabrook House. "Seabrook House really helped me get involved in my own recovery," Sammartino said. He has been in recovery since his January 12, 1998 birthday.
